How the direct download keeps itself current, how to verify a download, and how iOS is delivered.

  1. Updates on the Mac

    The direct download keeps itself current through a signed update feed on foldmail.app, while the TestFlight build is updated by Apple.

  2. iPhone and iPad

    FOLD for iPhone and iPad is distributed through Apple's TestFlight; there is no direct install, and an App Store release is planned.

  3. Verify a download

    Compare the checksum of the disk image and ask macOS about signature and notarization before you trust a copy of FOLD.
